My long-term goal is to turn an already livable country property in to a "lifestyle" property - one that is beautiful, manageable and more a part of the natural landscape, attracting native flora and fauna.

Coming from the city, I have a lot to learn about managing and improving a rural property, particularly a relatively large one. This has led to a lot of background research and the realisation that there will be many new, specific tasks in multiple disciplines that will require learning, planning and executing.
Areas such as
- water management
- fencing
- fire management
- furniture building and restoration
- pest control (e.g. rabbits)
- tree planting and propagation
- solar and energy management
- enhancing access for native fauna
In my own experience reading other peoples blogs and watching their videos, I feel that many people are very experienced in what they are doing.in all of these disciplines. While I am an inherently practical person, I will be doing many things for the first time, with all the trials and tribulations that entails.
My aim with this blog is to take you with me on my journey in the hope that we can learn together what it takes to manage an Australian Paddock.
